In May 2025, China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) appointed Mr. Charles Michel as Distinguished Professor, marking the occasion with an appointment ceremony as well as a keynote speech at a forum marking the 50th anniversary of EU-China diplomatic relations at the school’s Shanghai campus.

Having served as Prime Minister of Belgium from 2014 to 2019 and President of the European Council from 2019 to 2024, Prof. Michel brings a wealth of experience, insight, and passion for international cooperation to CEIBS.
