Weihua Zhang
Before the current role, Zhang Weihua once served as the deputy director and chief engineer of Shanghai Postal and Telecommunications Administration; GM of China Telecom (USA); GM and secretary of party committee of China Telecom Shanghai Company. He was also a deputy to the 12th NPC, vice chairman of the 9th Committee of the Shanghai Association for Science and Technology, chairman of the Shanghai Communication Industry Association, and chairman of the Shanghai Information Service Industry Association. He got his PhD of Management from Fudan University and EMBA from CEIBS. He studied in Bell Laboratory of America and French Telecom College. He is an exchange scholar of Eisenhower Foundation.
With over 30 years of experience, Zhang Weihua has won many technology progress awards in Shanghai, Ministry of Information Industry and China. He participated in the drafting of the plan of Shanghai Information Port, and presided over the construction of the country's first city broadband network. In 2010, he led Shanghai Telecom, as a global partner of the World Expo, to demonstrate the achievements to the world. During his tenure at Shanghai Mobile, he organized and implemented new technologies such as Shanghai Mobile's 4G network, transmission network and big data platform.
