在中欧金融MBA专访中,中欧金融学副教授马中意(Mattia Landoni)从这句话开始,针对AI时代的能力培养,分享了 他的观点。


As a famous mathematician Terence Tao said in an interview recently, AI has brought the cost of idea exploration to zero. That is the attitude that will differentiate between the people who take an advantage of the technology, and people who suffer from it.
正如著名数学家陶哲轩在最近的一次采访中所说,AI已经将探索新想法的成本降到了零。正是对待技术的这种态度,将决定谁能利用技术占据优势,谁又会被技术所淘汰。

技术变革日新月异,很多人的职业发展正在面临挑战。当下应该如何培养科技驱动思维?
Technological change is advancing at an unprecedented pace, and many people are facing new challenges in their career development. What advice would you give to current CEIBS FMBA students and applicants on how to cultivate a technology-driven mindset?


Prof. Landoni: I am a big technology enthusiast. My answer is not to worry because people were freaking out when electricity was invented. And look at us today, we can't live without it. If it went away, it would change our lives in a very bad way. People adapt, right? People will take the technology that is available, no matter how fast it is evolving, and do new things. We're just gonna get more stuff done of the things that we already wanted to do.
马中意教授:我是一个超级技术发烧友。我的回答是不要担心,因为当年电被发明出来的时候,人们也曾感到恐慌。但看看今天的我们,已经离不开电了。如果失去电力,我们的生活将变得非常糟糕。人类是会适应的,对吧?人们会利用现有的技术,无论它发展得多快,去创造新事物。我们只是能把以前就想做的事情,完成得更多、更好。

AI不会夺走工作,而是强大的工具
Prof. Landoni: AI just proved a theorem that had eluded human mathematicians for 8 years. I don't see mathematicians freaking out saying, 'oh, AI will take our jobs away.' They're all so excited! So I think we should all just make a habit every day of investing some time in saying: 'Let's learn some new stuff that technology can do for me that I don't know yet.' Organize a lunch break, sharing with your colleagues, like what are the three cool things that you do that I don't do? Very simple advice, very cheap to do.
马中意教授:AI刚刚证明了一个困扰人类数学家8年之久的定理。但我并没有看到数学家们惊呼“AI要抢走我们的饭碗了”,相反,他们都非常兴奋!因此,我认为我们都应该养成一个习惯,每天投入一点时间对自己说:“让我来学点我还不了解的、技术能为我做的新东西。” 比如利用午餐时间,和同事分享:“你有哪三个很酷的AI使用技巧是我还不知道的?” 这是非常简单且零成本的建议。

在这样快速变化的技术时代,如何打破思维定式与识别商业机会?

The student profile of FMBA program consists of roughly "51% finance + 49% industry." How do you think studying at CEIBS can help them break through existing mentalities, understand technology, and identify business opportunities?

 

金融与实业的50/50完美融合,让金融真正服务于社会
Prof. Landoni: First of all, I really love the mix. I'm gonna call it a 50/50 mix. I think that's the best because literally every finance person can have an industry buddy, and vice versa. We all want finance to be at the service of society. We don't want finance to be something that finance people do upstairs and make a lot of money, and we don't understand what they do. The finance people themselves have the opportunity to see: "Oh, these are the real business people. This is the thing they need that can give me the opportunity to invent a new product."
马中意教授:首先,我非常喜欢这种生源构成。我称之为50/50的完美组合。我认为这是最好的,因为几乎每个金融界的人都能找到一个产业界的伙伴,反之亦然。我们都希望金融能服务于社会。我们不希望金融只是那些金融人士在高楼大厦里赚大钱,而我们却看不懂他们在干什么。在这里,金融人士有机会看到:“哦,这些才是真正的做实业的人。了解他们的需求,能让我有机会去发明新的金融产品。”

产业人学金融不仅是学数学,更是学真实世界的经验
Prof. Landoni: And for the industry people, honestly, I cannot recommend enough studying finance. Being with finance people, you do not just get the math and the complicated concepts, but you also get the experience. Because when the math breaks down, what do real people do in the real world? So I think there is an excellent opportunity for mixing together and learning from each other. That's for the mentality.
马中意教授:而对于产业界的人来说,说实话,我极其推荐大家学习金融。和金融人士在一起,你不仅能学到数学模型和复杂的概念,还能获得实战经验。因为当数学模型失效时,真实世界里的人们是怎么做的?所以我认为,这是一个相互融合、相互学习的绝佳机会。这就是关于“打破思维定式”的答案。

中欧为何懂技术?因为前沿技术直接决定了商业形态
Prof. Landoni: You would imagine that the people here (at a business school) are marketing experts, finance experts. Why would they be technology experts? Well, I have sat into many classes... and I learned that my colleagues all understand technology very well. I've seen some very sophisticated understanding and usage of AI... I've seen people understanding laser engraving of microprocessors, computer chips, and advanced biology. Because all of these high-technology processes have really big economic consequences and big business importance... so you have to understand the technology.
马中意教授:你可能会想,商学院里的人不都应该是营销专家、金融专家吗?他们为什么会是技术专家呢?其实,我在这里听了很多同事的课,我发现他们都非常懂技术。我看到他们对AI有着非常深刻的理解和运用……我也看到他们在课堂上讲解微处理器和电脑芯片的激光雕刻,以及前沿生物学。因为所有这些高科技的进程,都将产生巨大的经济影响和极高的商业价值……所以,你必须去理解技术。
